Scope against the bottleneck
I start by finding what is actually slowing you down, which is often not the thing you were about to pay someone to build. Then I scope to that, and say so if the honest answer is a smaller job.

I find what is slowing a business down and I build the thing that fixes it.
I audit your business, find what is costing you time and money, then build custom web apps and automations around it so everything runs faster.
Most businesses are not short of software. They are short of software that fits. I audit how your business really runs, find what is costing you time and money, and build custom software around it. Tailored to you, not the other way round.
[Based in Los Angeles // working worldwide]
[What I actually do]
An audit of how the work gets done and what it costs, so the build targets the expensive problem, not the loud one.
Web apps tailored to your business: portals, platforms and internal systems, for a team of five or five hundred.
The step someone repeats every day is usually the cheapest thing to remove.
One canonical record, typed adapters, and syncs you can replay when something breaks.

Pick one task your team does by hand. Move the sliders. That number is what the task costs you every year.
This task costs you
$16,800
a year, 480 hours
Assumes 48 working weeks. Loaded cost = wage plus taxes and benefits, usually 1.25–1.4× the hourly rate. Excludes the cost of errors and delay, which is usually larger.
Building products that are reliable, easy to use, and easy to maintain.

002
I keep things simple and direct, so everyone knows what is being built, what is done, and what comes next. No status theatre, no surprise invoices.
003
I build with structure in mind, so the product stays easy to improve and scale. You should be able to hand it to someone else without an archaeology dig.
004
The goal is a system you run without me. Documented, boring where boring is correct, and free of anything clever that only I understand.
[What you can hold me to]
[How I help]
I take on a limited number of projects each year.
Where every project starts. I look at how the work actually gets done, what you pay for, and where time and money leak out, then hand you a costed plan ranked by what saves the most, fastest.
1–2 weeksSoftware built around your business, not the other way round. Customer portals, operations platforms and internal systems, tailored to how your team really works, from a small business to a multi-location operation, and built to stay fast as you grow.
6–12 weeksThe screen your team lives in all day. Built around how the work already happens rather than an idealised version of it, with the underlying data one click away.
4–8 weeksRemoving the step someone repeats every day (the copy, the paste, the export, the Friday report) and making the system do it, with failures that page a human instead of passing quietly.
3–6 weeksConnecting the systems that should already talk: one canonical record, typed adapters for each platform, and syncs you can replay when something breaks.
3–8 weeksThe back office behind the storefront. Order routing, inventory across channels, wholesale, returns and getting it all into the books without a person in the middle.
3–8 weeksMinimum engagement is $5,000. If your problem is smaller than that, say so anyway. The answer is sometimes an hour of advice rather than a project.
[What happens after you email]
You describe what is slow. I ask where the time actually goes. If I am not the right fit, I say so on the call.
I map how the business runs, the tools and the manual steps between them, and put a time and dollar cost on each. You get a written plan whether or not we continue.
Fixed scope, weekly updates, working software early. You see it running on your own data before it is finished.
Documentation, a recorded walkthrough, and access to everything. Retainer support if you want it; not required.
[On-site across LA County]
Most work is remote, but some processes only make sense once you have stood on the warehouse floor. If you are in LA County, I can come to you.

No-code automation is the right answer surprisingly often. Here are the specific signs that you have outgrown it, and what a custom integration actually changes.

I’m Ry
Founder & engineer, Evenbuilt
I have run operations across software, retail, apparel and physical product. That range is the point: the same bottleneck shows up in five different industries wearing five different costumes, and after a while you stop being surprised by it.
I do the work myself. There is no team behind me producing slide decks, which means the person who scopes your project is the person who builds it and the person you call when something breaks.
More about how I work →[Philosophy] ↘
I enjoy simplifying complex ideas and turning them into tools people can actually use.
My work sits somewhere between engineering and operations, where structure matters as much as experience.
[Asked often]
Businesses from small teams to large, multi-location operations: e-commerce and DTC brands, wholesalers, manufacturers, agencies and service businesses. The common thread is software that does not fit how the business really works.
No. Most people arrive knowing what hurts, not what the fix is. The first call and the audit exist to work that out, and sometimes the answer is a setting in a tool you already pay for.
It depends on how many systems are involved, so every build is quoted as a fixed price in writing after the audit. The minimum engagement is $5,000; if your problem is smaller than that, ask anyway.
Often you should, and I will tell you. Custom work earns its place when the volume is high, the logic has exceptions, failures are expensive, or the per-task pricing has started to cost more than the build.
I am based in Los Angeles and can come on-site anywhere in LA County, which helps when a process lives on a warehouse floor. Most of the work is remote, and I work with businesses across the US.
You get documentation, a recorded walkthrough and ownership of everything. Optional monthly support covers monitoring, fixes and small changes; plenty of clients never need it.
